I didn't think The Baxter was that bad a movie. I'm not saying it was fantastic, and yes, Parks and Rec is better, but The Baxter was solid enough and pretty entertaining. Also, I don't think Parks and Rec is better than The Office. I simply said I was happy to see Parks and Rec carve out its own niche.

PARKS AND REC vs THE OFFICE
I have to say that this episode went a long way in distancing PARKS AND REC from THE OFFICE. Obviously the show will always be compared to THE OFFICE since it has the same creative team behind it and uses a similar format. However, in the beginning, each character on P&R had a readily

Sometimes I think AV Commenters need to stop being the gay boyfriends to the world. Not everything needs to be coated in 15 layers of irony, guys.

Sci-Fi Slang
One of the techs refers to the other one as "Dude." This kind of threw me. I probably prefer it over, like, calling him so sci-fi version of "dude" but in a show that goes out of its way to create "realistic" future-speak the sudden colloquialism took me by surprise.

You're…
fat.

Trade Paperbacks
TV on DVD I can usually ditch if the show is just mediocre, although most of the time I like to have the complete series. However, when it comes to trades I have a weird compulsion to read the entire series. This is probably why my copy of INVISIBLES: SAY YOU WANT A REVOLUTION has been mocking me

Mila Kunis?
Is her agent Ari Gold or something? How the fuck has her star risen so prominently? One passable turn in FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL and all of sudden she's bankable?

Felt tip pens = magic. That's pretty much all I remember about it. WISHBONE, though, that show was the shit.

Great episode but
They lifted the line "Almost exclusively" directly from SEINFELD. Other than that though: pitch perfect.

Brilliant, Hamburglar.

Looking forward to
CAPRICA. Joss Whedon's CABIN IN THE WOODS (although that looks as though it has been pushed back to 2011 as well…) and SCOTT PILGRIM vol. 6. Brian K. Vaughn wrapping up EX MACHINA (in TPB form) as well as BUFFY SEASON 8 conclusion.

Nice! I too thought it sounded familiar.

Jesus, so many fucking high tops…

TV rarely
gets as good as these two episodes. Probably my favorite aspect was the fact that Echo and Ballard are now off in the world, doing their own thing. I was expecting that to happen way back in "Alpha" and kept getting disappointed since it would revert back to business as usual at the end of each ep. Good

I was so happy to see someone ape Fran Kranz's style. Enver was pitch perfect.

I got the feeling the trapped-arm flashback was when Echo had been imprinted at some point (I can't remember if Glau actually called Echo "Caroline" within the flashback).

While I agree with most of the above (particularly INDY 4 and the STAR WARS prequels) I do have to say that SERENITY did not fail to disappoint. Of course, FIREFLY was a very cinematic show and the leap from making 42 minute episodes to a 119 minute feature, replete with better special effects and zippier plotting,

But to be original, my caption would probably go: "THIS! IS! SPOKANE, WASHINGTON!"

To quote Brian Lynch (re: the photo)
"Menudo is back and you owe them money!"

"They're Made of Meat"
Noonan stars in this pretty awesome short film that has made the YouTube rounds. Every time I watch it I think it would be something Bryan Fuller should get involved in. It's like a more palatable David Lynch mixed with wry humor.
