I don't think ALIEN is a slasher movie at all. ALIEN is the ultimate haunted house movie, since it definitively answers the audience's question that plagues all haunted house movies which is: "WHY DON'T YOU JUST LEAVE THE FUCKING HOUSE?" Because they can't… until Weaver does, I guess.

"What's your favorite scary movie… friend-o?"

Isn't it also worthwhile to mention that Campbell does give up her virginity in that movie to the killer? It subverts the virgin-as-hero trope since she boffs the villain and then winds up putting a bullet in his fucking brain.

CURSED is God-awful, no argument there. SCREAM, I agree with Zach's points. I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER actually isn't that bad, in my opinion, as it works mainly as a whodunit thriller and a slasher flick (plus, JLH and SMG cleavage). SCREAM 2 is decent enough, for a sequel. SCREAM 3 however… what the fuck

B+
Some really funny moments, but the ending with the family jumping into the pool seemed way too FULL HOUSE. What next? They have a food fight? Or maybe Comet can try some Gloria's cooking and run out the door. Because the food is so bad a dog won't even eat it! Hilarious.

What's really sad is that I checked my original comment twice and didn't catch that. Insomnia, you win again.

The universal healthcare joke made me so sad. I want to provoke brawls as well!

SURGE!

I also enjoyed the return of Captain Sweatpants. Clearly, I dug this episode too much. I will stop now.

Agreed. Interesting factoid: Sheldon said Mee-Maw, but Wheaton heard "Chopper, sic balls."

Who knows? If this show goes on long enough and DOLLHOUSE goes the way of FIREFLY, maybe Sheldon will one day get to yell: "WHHHHHEEEEEDOOOONNNNN!"

Favorite parts
Sheldon's "Silence!" command and Stewie's pathetically placating "Well, that was fun." Does anyone else think Stewie should be featured more prominently in this show?

No, Todd is right. Sara Rue was attracted to Howard because he told her she could drive the moon-car thing. Then she fell for Leonard and a three-episode guest stint was born.

Cautious optimism
Is back, huh? Well, okay then. I remain solipsistically quizzical.

Mel Gibson spearing a Congressman with an American flag gets my vote.

RIP Rip Torn.

Guest Star X is the guy who follows Speed Guest Star and helps him to win all the races, right?

I love Ben Stiller's line: "…one of the biggest Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday birthday opening weekends ever." For me you can really see the keen sense of satire that he would later display TROPIC THUNDER.

I gave this show
An A-. Not because it was the funniest (although it was hilarious) but because I couldn't help but feel that, coincidentally, this was the perfect episode to cap off the day's news events. The balloon boy story was largely sensationalized and the result of lazy reporters and anchors (and apparently
