withdrawn, I obviously neglected to read the entire article

I liked The Lion King but I have to admit that the rest of the movie is kind of a letdown after the opening number.

Let's Make a Deal is basically a 30-minute game show version of a shaggy dog story. But I can enjoy it now as a time capsule because, holy shit, those people really did get excited over console TVs back then.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the new female pig was literally the only character on that show that was brand-new.

Jim also tricked Frank into posing nude for a photo that was used in a sculpture of Bert that he made. Also a true story.

I thought they'd nev-ah cancel this show! Nev-ah, nev-ah, nev-ah!

Especially since that professionally gathered data is at least quasi-scientific instead of anecdotal. A write-the-advertisers strategy is like the inverse of telling the bagger at Kroger that you'll never be shopping there again because they got rid of those fish sticks you like. Somebody call Cab Calloway!

Fuck you, Sherman Anti-Trust Act!

But apparently Lorne really liked the contrast, and

Made by the same company, too.

The problem is that Harry Shearer left the show in the middle of the season, but because that intro was designed to look like one continuous pan, they couldn't edit him out. I think that discouraged them from doing something quite so expensive and technically elaborate again.

When I begin a sentence with "If you want to get super-geeky about this…" on The A.V. Club, you can safely assume I'm saying it rhetorically.

The lead singer of Reunion, Joey Levine, went on to make a living writing commercial jingles. And he sung a lot of them, too. If you heard a jingle in the 80s with a "wacky" male voice, it was probably Joey.
