Yeah, I thought that maybe for once the show was setting up a future episode. But nope. Just a (disappointing) one off gag.

It seems the same to me. Maybe slightly different, but I'd say that it's 95% the same show it was before.

Mania Yak.

It was the best of times, it was the FURST of times?!

Or for a more recent example, an American Dad! fan for the entirety of its run on Fox.

Or on the other hand, it gives the show a chance to go wild and produce some of their best episodes - see Community, The Simpsons.

Reading his name and comment "my heart was racing in the last scene where Stan was arguing with customer service" made me momentarily think we were discussing an AD! episode.

"Why should I believe you? You're [sharing a birthday with] Hitler!"

Oddly, this episode also had a joke about premium games. I guess South Park did it, but only by a few days. And even then, this episode has been in production longer, so The Simpsons did it, technically first.

I actually thought that the Futurama cast looked pretty decent overall.

I do find it funny that Scruffy and Linda are now dead. I guess they'll be joining the actual show!

If nothing else, it'll be the last time we see Futurama characters on Fox!

I think the Family Guy crossover was a bit long, actually, but on the other hand, this Futurama crossover was a bit short.

I would be up for a The Simpsons/American Dad! crossover, but I feel like Futurama/American Dad! would be better.

An hour long episode. *snort* *laugh* What is this… Family Guy?

Hmm. Nope. Doesn't ring a bell. I don't think Simpsons fans remember anything before 2005.

To quote Dale Gribble, which sums up my feelings on this episode: "Heh heh. That brought me some pleasure."

Hell, Fry even has a Family Guy calendar in "Bender's Big Score" so we know that he (or at least, one version of him) is a FG fan.

I'd say season 20 to season 22 are very good. Season 23 and season 24 are kind of a swerve down, but season 25 starts picking up, and season 26 has been pretty good so far.

And unlike the Family Guy / The Simpsons crossover Fox didn't hype this up to hell and back.
