Another point on why later periods probably wouldn't work as well. The comedy of Blackadder stemmed mostly from class driven society with Edmond being the smartest and most scheming trying to get up the ladder while those up the ladder where idiotic. He never got up the ladder mostly because of the born privilege of

I got the DVD of that the Christmas before last I should get round to watching it.

Well, it started off badly, it tailed off a little in the middle and the less said about the end, the better. But apart from that, excellent.

I love that von Richthoven is played by Adrian Edmonson, Rik's long time comedy partner in his only part.

I think there have been a few modern Blackadders in Comic Relief stuff, a Lord in Back and Forth, a sketch where he is a general suggesting they go to the war with the French and most recently servant in charge of the Queen's sprinkler.

Cold is God's way of telling us to burn more Catholics!

I feel a fool.

For pure laughs Beer is the best episode for me, maybe in a tie with Bells.

Do I have a canoe in my pants or am I just happy to see you.

Yes. I think there was also one in the future and one in the 80's as a Tory politician, which was decided against because it was too similar to The New Statesman.

Blackadder survives at the end of 2.

Two things you need to know about the wise woman. First she is wise.

Baldrick the renaissance was just something that happened to other people wasn't it?

I prefer The German Guns.
Boom, boom, boom
Boom, boom, boom
Boom, boom, boom, boom

I like it firm and fruity!
