In some periods of depression consuming any pop culture would become a chore and I'd keep doing it because I'd tell myself this is what made me happy.
I never compared the two, but I love Davies and can't stand Malick. Davies just seems more personal and down to earth to me.
He's a kid, that's what they're like.
I know I'm very late (damn lack of notifications) but I'm surprised no one likes 'a creepy Pat Boon-ish quality to it' as I do..

Yes I've heard some call it the Australian Monty Python, it was crazy how popular it was the closing theme 'Farewell Aunty Jack' went to the top of the charts. I don't think the show holds up that well today but the album is great comedy all the way through.
Spamming this board I know but best tie in novelty record? I love the Bad News albums. The Goons had quite a few catchy singles, my favourite 'Eeh! Ah! Oh! Ohh!'. Monty Python goes without saying. A couple of Australian albums Shaun Micallef: His Generation and Aunty Jack Sings Wollongong.

It's a shame they don't because I don't always watch along but I like that if I ever get to watching a classic TV show there will be a AV Club guide of all the episodes. Non-American shows also unfortunately don't do very well.
Oh that's what 'BJ close at hand' meant.
Wasn't there one year that Pee Wee Herman hosted a New Years Eve show for MTV?
