To be fair, I read it when I was 10 or 11, around the same time I read Cujo, Carrie, Dead Zone, Salems' Lot, Christine, Firestarter and the Stand (Thanks grandma!). Cujo is the only book ever to give me nightmares, and Pet Sematary was the only one I recall being indifferent about. Though I had a friend who was

Tim Curry was terrible in it. Horribly miscast, too. Harry Anderson was better. Much, much better. They needed someone like John Goodman (at the time), or Ron Perlman (now).

Remakes
Having watched Pet Sematary a few weeks back, I will have to admit that the story deserved better treatment than it got. It's a weak novel, that got a weaker screen treatment.

Another wasted performance
About the only good thing in this movie was the two minute performance by Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire's, Chris Partlow). Why load a film with amazing talent and then reduce the story to a cast of two?
