Thank you. A lot of people really don't seem to get that, that the format of the show is not designed to read like a textbook study of the available evidence followed by an even-handed summary for the viewer.

I think the best way to view P&T:BS is to accept that although we are used to accepting commonly-held paradigms, about the environment, about health, etc, there are other points of view and some of them can be shocking to us and may even cause us to re-consider our own beliefs, or at least why we believe them.

I would pick any episode EXCEPT the circumcision episode. I only got through about 2 minutes of it and yet I'm still scarred.

Yeah, far be it for me to question the wisdom of Mr. Murray, but I feel he took a bit of a light touch when it came to the actual use of the central plot device in this movie. In my mind, it's simply too unbelievable to allow me to buy in. Seems to fall in the vein of so-called "magical realism".

I think parsing out Richard Simmons's motivations in any scenario is probably a losing game. Alls I knows is that Letterman would play the clip of him spraying Simmons with a fire extinguisher all the time and seemed to take an inordinate amount of joy from it.
