I've never noticed that; I'll have to keep that in mind when I rewatch it.

Season 7 is my favorite season. I love seasons 3-8 and greatly enjoy seasons 1-3 and 9-12

I love the "soda" and "chicken wing" consumption as alcohol. Never have I seen so many hangovers caused by "soda" and "chicken wings"

Season 12 is the last "good" season in my opinion. I don't mind the change in direction after 12, but what makes it turn sour for me is the shameless celebrities they start bringing in. They don't even try to write a story around why they are there they just have them drop by.

I think Groening, despite his lack of straight comedy sense, adds a sense of anarchy to his shows. He isn't the funniest guy, but he sure knows how to bring out the best in those around him

The "Family Guy like" randomness and "22 Short Films About Springfield" have nothing in common. Randomness is just chaos for chaos sake, "22 Short Films About Springfield" is guided from start to finish and pure insight into every citizen it features

It's true, but in all fairness how many shows would stand up to this episode?

I have to get this out of the way first: this is my favorite episode of The Simpsons. This is 22 minutes of pure joy. If joy could be viewed in a visual state it would look like this episode.

I think I was having a rough week. I'll pick up my game for next week.

I think you may be right. I've never put the two together, but now that you pointed it out you I can see it.

It's interesting that Bart on the Road uses Homer and Lisa as a B-story; usually when those two are paired together its for heavy episodes about their relationship. This B-story is a nice counter point to all of those stories continue to prove how they function as a family unite.

Whoops, sorry I messed of who's answer we never get to see. We never get to see Bart and Lisa's answer.

This is an amazing episode, but one aspect I have never really loved until recently was the ending and how you never found out how Lester and Eliza solved the problem. The ending is so uneasy by the introduction of Lester and his brainy sister and the fact that we the viewer are never privy to Bart and Lisa's solution

How is it so hard to properly budget for the Winter Olympics? Both times Canada has hosted the Winter Olympics they were properly budgeted, beneficial to the community, and financially beneficial in the long term.

Can't wait for all the coverage for these classics to start! I'll be following the Clone High one particularly.

You are right, an episode don't have to just be emotional or satirical for it to be one of the best; it has to be well written, paced, acted, directed, etc, but it does require something that separates it from the rest of the episodes, something unique that that episode does better then every episode before and after

"I love this episode and every episode doesn't have to be Radio Bart, or Two Bad Neighbors." - The Pensive Lenny 11 minutes ago.

Episodes like Homer The Smithers is my definition of a perfect middle of the road episode. Every joke lands, and the character relations are true and they build off the established; what doesn't make this one of the best episodes of all time is there is no greater level to this episode. No commentary on society, or

I concur, Gut Grinder is pretty low on my list.
