""Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily” is not a barn-burningly hilarious episode of the show"

I'm always a little suspicious when cinophiles read into camera technique in movies. There are shots that have meaning behind them and the director of cinematography intended to go for specific effects, but how do you distinguish an accident or something done because of limitations or lack of purpose they are

Jiminy jillikers Radioactive man!

Like others I'm a little hesitant with this new art style, and to be frank new Power Puff Girls. I've always been the mind that hand drawn animation ages better than CGI. Not to say that shows like Gravity Falls and Adventure Time aren't beautiful; The last couple of years computer animation has really come into its

"What do you do if you want something that looks like a horse"

It's a good thing Alfalfa was an orphan owned by the studio.

What a way to start my favorite season. I know Who Shot Mr. Burns part 2 was the beginning, but this really feels like season seven. The Simpsons weren't just poking jabs at this point in their run, they were stabbing deep to the bloodly bone.

Look at that ad! This place must be hot. They don't need a big ad or even correct spelling.

Is true, I may not agree with you Dikachu, but I do appreciate your opinions.

The carefree adventure's of the first season wouldn't sustain past the 2nd season before getting boring. At some point with a show it has to grow; it either goes off the air, or changes.

Once again Mr. Perkins you have expertly defined the parameters of the episode, and the problems of the episode as you see them. I'm able to then bounce my readings off the episode and your review and get a better grasp at how I felt about this episode.

IDk that joke fell a little flat IMO. It was in character, but the same joke was pulled when Brian Louis pulled the gun on Haley and Jeff.

Agreed, it was satisfying.

I vaguely remember this show from when I was 16, or possibly from seasons of South Park when Comedy Central advertised their DVDs. In fact I had no memory of the show until I watched the trailer for the DVD again.

As I can see from the comments I'm not the only one wishing it was longer than it was. I know American Dad doesn't usually do traditional two parters (Stan of Arabia being the exception, but I do believe this episode would have gone to the next level if it was given more time to breath.

I know what you mean, I felt like it should have been a two part-er or something.

The direction of this episode was a radical departure from previous episodes as well. It didn't feel very much like a Simpsons episode. It was dark for more than half the episode, and the pacing and timing were slow. I'm not saying it's bad, just note worthy.

Yay one of the most controversial shows on AV Club is back! We get to hear how it sucks and how great it is!

On a personal level CJ probably isn't going to be great for Mordecai, but on a story level there is so much that can be done so I have no problem if this be the direction they are taking.

Wow this is the first time I have ever been this on top of a discussion for any of the shows I watch… But maybe that's because it's new years and I'm spending it watching a cartoon show…
