unfortunately, it's a pretty precise review that hits the nail on the head about what's wrong with the movie. I'd also add the nonexistent logic of the new female character introduced, cringe-inducing and bringing down what was already an unnecessary and messed up movie

she seems to be a MPDG tailor-made for the narrative universe of Rectify, meaning that she definitively has some annoying characteristics of that trope, but she is still well written and has something distinguishable, like her own emotional baggage and a jaded attitude

i kind of agree. it's still great to have the chance to watch these fantastic characters and see how they wrap up things, or at least gain some sense of closure, but i feel like the show ended in a perfect way in season 3, with all of the possible outcomes still in the open.
