Yes! I try and champion Go whenever it comes up, it's very well made, funny, violent, clever…a really enjoyable movie.

Whie I love Big Lebowski as much as any Coen fan, it feels to me like that would left off a list ilke this.  If they're doing their best to toe the line of great / influential movies and best-of-director entries, then I think they'll have a tough enough time choosing between Fargo, Barton Fink and Miller's Crossing…

They're pretty darn different in presentation, although they're surprisingly similar.  SPR usually gets the "visceral" nod for the D-Day sequence and the final Alamo bit (and rightfully so), but TRL's seige of the hill is pretty damn unnerving and impressive.  On the flip side, SPR almost always gets demerits in…

Yeah I guess the music doesn't bother me.  I've found lately, maybe this is me moving into my "get off my lawn!" mode, but I just get frustrated by songs, particularly like 5-8 minute classic rock songs that feel obligated to begin their epics with soft introductions before they explode into full on rock or whatever. …
