I agree that it's a fairly simple song, and the lyrics can be kind of cringe-worthy when you consider them, but the piano tune is lovely and overall it's an innocuous enough song.

No I wasn't, but I thought he was something that, while by definition he is, was a far cry from being prototypically "British", or at least what I think of as British.

Heavenly Creatures is awesome.  I had heard it was really good, and expected kind of a non-special effects / surreal movie based on the plot synopsis, but I definitely got a Peter Jackson movie.  Funny that Winslet became such a force in Hollywood (not really, beautiful + talented), but Lynskey is seriously deranged…
