Seussical?

Well not necessarily assassins, but how about road movies like Badlands or True Romance where people commit murder for the first time and keep going forward.

I loved Control. Before reading this I didn't know a thing about this movie, i kind of thought it looked like Clooney's stab at a "Bourne" type movie, but both the director and the grade make me pretty interested.

It's sitting on my counter from netflix right now. I guess I should give it a watch?

Yeah I agree with that, the Bastogne segment following Doc Roe is pretty introspective and character based, same with Breaking Point and Lipton. A major turn-off with the Pacific, for me, was the glacial pace alot of the episodes had. Maybe they did make a concerted effort to create a more detailed set of characters

Lt. Speirs' relief of Dyke
is totally badass.

Seriously, thank heavens in modern times we can get back to normal military names like Generals Chaos and Havoc.

Agreed. Those movies are a little too clinical at times, way too aware of the hipness of the stars, so it was cool to have the best scene be where the minor foreign guy just knocks it out of the park.

Far From Heaven

I agree, cookie monster. When I first saw the movie it seemed an oddly specific character trait to give to Seymour, but this makes it pretty clear where alot of that knowledge and appreciation came from, I guess.

There were quite a few assembled badasses in that movie, but it didn't feel quite right. The missing ingredient was clearly Carl Weathers. Throw him into the mix and you got a stew goin' baby!

I think 'Psycho' is up there in the bait and switch department. And doesn't Seagal eat it right away in Executive Decision?

Expendables was kind of a bummer. People certainly got annihilated at the end, but every single line of dialogue was done in a winking "look how awesome we are" manner, plus Stallone is so grossly roided out it's weird.

@El Santo, That's a good point about the simultaneous action. I'm sure it had been handled before, but that was probably pretty unique at the time, juggling those 3 different pieces in the air. Everything was coming to a head there, Luke and his Destiny, Lando's redemption and the whole war.

Whatever, Lucas certainly brought on himself all the talk about original ideas with the re-releases and prequels, but damn near every movie probably went through drastic changse when being put together. Good Will Hunting originally had an FBI shootout aspect to it I think (not a great movie, but the first blatant

They are touring together.

We went to a BoDeans concert and son of a vondruke, if I didn't leave him at the concert hall. Thank God they had him the next day at lost and found.

He's great in Multiplicity. I'm not kidding either; pizza in the wallet = comedy gold!

Or the scene in the dark knight
where the joker slides down the mountain of money is mysteriously like mcduck's affinity for swimming in his coins. ipso-facto Duck Tales made Nolan what he is.
