GODAMMIT IT WASN'T THERE WHEN I DID MINE
Hey everybody. What's up?
"All my life, I wanted to be a knockoff tuff in a TV movie remake of a 30 year old film."
*Flying Purple People eater queues up*
So is his name!
Colt Prattes sounds like a rejected joke from the Space Mutiny episode of MST.
GODOMMOT
Top Gun is 31 years old. Say what you will about Tom Cruise but goddamn he looks pretty great.
I SAID SHARPER SHOULDERPADS GODAMMIT
That was such a great subtle touch. Completely catapulted him into asshole territory.
I don't like McCain much, but man that is low comparing him to McConnell.
Once Sigourney Weaver threw her weight behind it, it seemed like a much more distinct possibility. I'm not sure Scott was even going to be involved in it, but he kiboshed it with Fox in favor of his own movies, I believe.
I know Blomkamp's been a case of rapidly diminishing returns, but I still have enough goodwill for him from District 9 that I hope this gets him back to his roots and allows him a Shyamalan-type comeback.
And his summation of the Israeli holocaust memorial: Amazing.
Kim Bassinger in that lion one-piece tho
After Casino Royale so effectively rebooted the series and turned it into something new, QOS was a huge letdown to see them immediatley go back to the Bond well and do all the standard tropes so soon. I only saw it once but it was really disappointing.
I saw it recently and I remember the first part thinking YES FINALLY A SOLID CRAIG AS BOND MOVIE. The stuff in Mexico City, then the train being a nice little not to subtle nod to From Russia With Love. Then after that it goes so spectacularly to shit I almost wonder if another director came in to finish it.
This is pretty much all of my problems with Skyfall. It felt like three Bond movies packed into one, and none of them got room to breathe.
"Good lord Moore and Walken are just running away with these scenes. We need someone more subtle and nuanced in there to anchor these two. Get me Grace Jones."
It was in permanent rotation on HBO for like a year. Poor Never Say Never Again got relegated to Cinemax. Burn.
