It sure seems like "original creator of a property is overshadowed by a more charismatic figure who takes credit for their work" is a depressingly common occurrence with comic books in particular.

Yeah this just goes to show how little I watch the Big Four networks anymore. I knew there was a gritty Oz series in the works, but had no idea it would be on NBC or that it had even already aired, until this article.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon was what the Star Wars prequels should have been: the last warriors of a dying era, heavy with the weight of history, engaged in one last quest.

There actually was a Nightfall movie in the late 80s. The ad campaign made it seem like something else entirely and I saw it with a friend in a near empty theater.

Oleanna and Twyin, in a show set entirely between seasons 3 and 4, just having a brittle-off with each other.

I've had the same worries as well. Where does it stop? How does it stop?

High five, fellow unitarian wedding haver! My wife's mom is Catholic when convenient and insisted we have a religious wedding ceremony.

Yes, but it does give the bill symbolic heft and momentum going into the senate now. Headlines already calling this a "triumph". Which Republican senators will want to stand in the way of all that?

They stripped that clause out before the floor vote.

It's appalling and disgusting. I hope we get some good footage of them chugging beers and toasting the death and hardship of their own constituents to use in ads all next year.

"That hippie's tryin to tell us what to do! Fuck him!"

They're celebrating sticking it to Obama.
That's it. They are animated only by hatred. No CBO score, nobody's read the bill, the ink was just drying when they got it to the floor for a vote. None of it matters. Have to hurt Obama.

It got overplayed at the time as well, but I love the "ssshhhh" exchanges with Dr. Evil and Scott, not the least because my dad used to do that to us when we were kids.

I watched it fairly recently and for some reason it wasn't as enjoyable.

I love how casually cruel he is in that exchange.

One of the many mistakes the sequels made is reducing Austin's presence. 2 & 3 are more about Dr. Evil than Powers. Dr. Evil benefitted more from being a secondary character, and using him so much reduced his impact as well.

Brasco was like the first big hit movie for him. I remember pulling for him all through the 90s and then when POTC was so huge, I at least felt glad for him that he made it. And he still got alot of goodwill for that performance. I think the real turn for him is when Burton started using him as his lead for every

Isn't this the set for the My Dinner with Andre sequel?

Resurrection is pretty grisly. You have Dan Hedaya picking a piece of his own brain out of his skull and looking at it, the failed Ripley clones, the Alien Baby and everything it does, and its horrific death.

Oh god is there another one we didn't know about?
