People naturally want to apply layers of complexity and nuance to him. He's the president, the most powerful man on earth for god's sakes. And he keeps proving them wrong, every time. He is every bit as stupid, selfish, and monstrous as he appears.

No "alleged" about it. That was a big fucking rabbit.

They even sold him on the whole zipline thing and I remember the same thing happening when I tried it

I'd say Carvey and Lovitz just kind of stopped making movies (Carvey at least basically retired). Myers seems to have a reputation for being difficult and it caught up with him; the knives were out for him after Love Guru.

I think the first one's still pretty good. There's a sweetness to it that you can tell is the tribute to his dad part. The other two are Myers second guessing what his audience wants and just doing poop jokes. Myers seems to make better films when pursuing his own whims rather than giving people what he thinks they

I was about as far away from Canada as you could get at the time. But all the figures, comics, etc of that first wave (He Man, Skeletor, Beast Man, Man at Arms) were subtitled in French on an alternate font or page, so I assumed this was some Canadian toyline Mattell picked up.

ALL Bolts matter.

You're right on the Filmation bit. But I thought MOTU was made by a French or Canadian manufacturer for the first wave, then Mattell bought them? I dunno; maybe it's some backstory I made up to explain why the figures and comic books you got had French translations to them as well.

Scared?

Masters of the Universe was one of the last toy lines I played with (the real last being the Dungeons & Dragons action figures).

This is a toy line that had already given us Fisto, and a dude who could extend his neck really high, so not that out of line.

It seriously bothered me as a kid that I couldn't integrate the two worlds. To that point, all the action figures were the same scale so you could have Maximillian from the Black Hole fucking shit up on the Millenium Falcon, only to be foiled by Buck Rogers. MOTU broke that up.

I had Fakor.

But the He-Man figures were like twice the size of the Star Wars figures! Were the SW characters battling a race of giants?

OK then, I stand corrected.

This is probably what's gotten me away from the show most. They killed off two of the more likeable characters, and any remaining likeable character went through some inexplicable arc that made them less interesting. To this day I have no idea what the writers are thinking with Carol. Daryl's just moped and said maybe

I'm really lobbying hard with my wife to drop this show between seasons. If she keeps watching it I'll inevitably get pulled back into its orbit, so she has to give it up too.

I think it's probably closer to three years out or a little longer. S2 ended with Lori finding out she was pregnant, S3 picked up with her about to give birth, so that's a 9 month leap there, and then I think it was about a 6 month jump between end of S3 and beginning of S4. And then there was a 3 month or so jump

You know, I saw Prometheus, but damned if I can remember much about it. Black goo? Bioweapons? Mutagen? David was the villain? None of it's ringing a bell.

That sounds about right. I remember reviews at the time pointing him out as the film's secret weapon, taking a thankless role and doing something with it.
