Well said, Dan, well said. And if there's a little self-pity to his later "I'm not that good myself," I can't begrudge it.

Casey's eventually called out for treating Sally like shit, too. She and Dana are never going to be friends, but Dana knows his treatment of her isn't right.

A note on the Samiel character. Back in season 1's "Powers, Principalities, Thrones and Dominions" Rodney Eastman played a character called Sammael. Yeah, in a way Mulder is more important to this episode exactly because he's not directly involved. Scully's experiences with Ritter prove that Mulder is - in a non-shipping sense - still her true partner.

I deeply enjoyed "Prism Eyes", the album they made as Reading Rainbow. Should have guessed they wouldn't be able to keep that name. But yeah, if Blondie were just Debbie Harry and Chris Stein and she played drums, I could see them sounding like this.

I spun out over Veckatimest, especially "Ready, Able". This sounds brasher, but I like it.
