"Through a Glass, Darkly", though Todd gave it a D+, is actually an effectively creepy episode, and has a rare humbling moment for Frank.

I'm not sure that Jackson had gone full wingnut by this point.  I do know that she showed severe limitations as an actress, which is one of many things that makes this an episode to avoid in my book.

I thought Bell did pretty well on his "straight" episode "Signs and Wonders."  Not well enough to make me forget it was ripping off "Die Hand Die Verletzt", but it had its thrills.

While Lalla Ward seems more popular with Whovians and of course married the Doctor himself, for me the first Romana was the greatest.

I like Jane Leeves (the Frasier woman), but this just sounds like a bad idea all over.  Even when the Pythons themselves were touring they would throw surprise material into their TV skits to make something new of it.  If someone who isn't them tries to repeat the skit verbatim, it just becomes bad karaoke.

Yeah, the reasons I love the sketch probably have a lot to do with why I hate job interviews IRL.

"Silly Job Interview" is my favorite Monty Python sketch of all time.  OF ALL TIME!  [/Kanye]

Also this:
Dan: We can do this the easy way or we can do it the hard way.
Casey: Really?  What's the hard way?
Dan: I have no idea, but the easy way is you tell me now.

"Through a Glass Darkly" worked a lot better for me.  It's melodramatic, sure, but not in a way that you couldn't guess from the premise.

I think it holds up pretty well.  It's one of those stories that's obviously told a little tongue in cheek, that could go to complete self-parody any minute, but that keeps a serious story intact as well.  Campbell has a lot to do with the balance working.

Coal mining is a wonderful thing, father.   But it's something YOU'LL never understand.
