There is some credence to the fan theory on "… Thirteen Years Later", in that 1998 was the year that Fox aired a big KISS reunion concert on Halloween Night, so it would make sense for them to want some extra promotion a day or two earlier.

Has it been remarked that within a few years, one would be a Desperate Housewife and the other would be a Dead Housewife?  Probably, but I can't remember.

Experience is the best teacher, I suppose.

Zack, you seem to be dealing with the even-numbered Millennium eps.  Checking the season out on Wikipedia, you certainly have more distinctive episodes than this to look forward to, whether you enjoy them or not.  This one works as well as it does because of Dillahunt.  It sort of hamstrings itself because the whole

Huh.  I knew AVC reviews were pretty standard for articles about new episodes, but working them into vintage episodes is new on me.

As I recall (Mild Spoilers Here) Scully does switch things around on Fletcher in part two, so there's a chance she's playing along with him here.

In the early years Carter always insisted that Mulder and Scully were good partners with a deep understanding of each other that wasn't romantic or sexual.  I was disappointed when the show drifted away from that.  Really, though, it may just be that that kind of subtle handling of human relationships is just too much

Milagro was a godawful mess from what I recall, and made poor use of having John Hawkes as a guest star.  On the plus side Scully strips down to her bra at some point.

For me Giebelhouse's insisting on Frank Black being on the case is the highlight of the episode.  Particularly because Giebs spent most of the first season thinking that Frank was a total loon, so there's a marked character evolution.  It would have been nice if the meat of the episode had lived up to that moment.

Hey, if he found a sufficiently strung-out hoodlum he could get the job done for, say, $75.

Olbermann didn't really develop his bombastic "How dare you, sir!" persona until later.  Plus, I think having Dan be like that would have been a little too much in the context of the show.  It is one of those crazy things, though.
