Leonard even said "Krogers" which is not the actual name of the supermarket - It's Kroger - which is great because "Krogers" is what older people where I live call the eponymous grocery chain!

I went into this episode feeling less than positive about the show's future - and I admit that it took me a few minutes to realize that there is NOTHING else on TV like it. This show is meant for a narrow viewer base - and that's OK. I'll also be OK if it ends in 3 seasons - or 4 for that matter just as long as Harmon

C+ for Pierce
A+ for spaceman paninis and Black Hitler

It certainly holds up better than (the still pretty decent, and more famous) Breakfast Club

Of all the John Hughes 80s catalog (even Ferris Bueller which I must have watched 100 times) this is the one that still resonates with me the most. The slow realization about Candy's lot in life, and even the calulated use of "Paul Young's - Everytime You Go Away" at end reliably tug on my heartstrings. I didn't

People complained about the derivative nature of the Chili Peppers' or Foo Fighters' recent efforts - but at least they stayed true to who they are as bands…
