I don't think it's premature because its resurrection was a kind of instant cult revival— a handful of passionate people rallying around it. (And MARGARET is definitely not one of those lame cult movies by design, like ZOMBIE STRIPPERS.)

Really kind of you to say. The whole #teammargaret thing is a proud moment for the profession, I think. Before it happened, Lonergan was walled in by lawsuits and a studio that had accepted the film was a disaster; now he and the cast have been out at screenings, and the perception of the film has completely changed.…

The former is purely "auteur obligation." No claims to it being of great quality, but people have to see whatever the Woodman does. The latter I puzzled over for a while before opting to keep it off, but I may be persuadable on that front.
