Ah, yes, it was popular to LODLSM 7 years ago. I remember groups of us would get together and set up a LAN connection in our Sailor Moon costumes. Well, I was Jupiter.

Hmmm, to pick one favorite… I'm gonna have to go with FMLTWIA. Really? Is that… is that common sex talk among the kids these days? It doesn't seem like it would have quite the same affect as an unwieldy acronym anyways.
Cat Party is forever, for the good times and 15 second dance parties it has given us!

That should be "the cartoonist's Twitter," unless Kupperman is more than one cartoonist.
I believe that movies could be assessed in the same way as parties: bunk or crunk, that's all I need to know.
Come on now
"Hot Jazz" was used in the Coen Brothers' short. Also I kind of liked the one set on the Quay of the Seine. But I agree that the three Amelie listed are the best. And the one with Elijah Wood and the vampire is just fucking awful. But I will probably wind up seeing this New York movie anyways, because…
I taped Audition off the IFC back when I was in high school without really knowing what it was about. Holy shit, when she's sitting in her apartment and the phone rings, ahhhhhhhhhh holy shit. Yeah, I love Audtion. I should probably buy it on DVD now that our VCR's finally broken.
On the same night I watched Battle Royale and another Japanese movie called Water Boys, which was about a group of high school boys who wanted to form a synchronized swimming team. It was a sort of Japanese high school synchronized swimming Billy Eliot, if you will. What I'm saying is, I liked both of these movies…
The "vous" pronoun and form are also for addressing an audience of two or more people, which I would assume is how the pilots were using it.
I wish I had never learned that the words "311 I am ready to fight" had ever passed anyone's lips, because now I will have to live knowing that there will never be a good reason to say those words in my everyday life.
What, when is Bon Iver coming to Dallas? I've been checking his tour dates and it has seemed particularly cruel to me that he's playing a few dates with Elvis Perkins (but not Elvis' Dallas show!) and Jenny Lewis (but not Jenny Lewis' Dallas show!).
My mom is dating a guy with Asperger's because, as far as we can tell, she can boss him around, or, as she puts it, "He puts up with [me]." I'm not a big fan of the dude, but it's kind of a bummer how she always talks to him like he is ten. So, no, I will not be seeing this movie.
Man I ain't cool enough to figure out how to get to house parties and shit, but I agree that I could save money by just seeing whoever I really want to see at like, Stubbs or Emo's or whatever. It's still up in the air, what I'll do, but I had a good enough time last year that I kinda wanna do it again. Especially…
Indeed, whatever I decide about ACL, I'll be at the Grizzly Bear show in June at the Granada. Like I said below, I mainly like the atmosphere, and as an excuse to go to Austin, since I don't have a reason to go normally. I am broke as hell right now, so I will probably have to buy tickets to ACL on craigslist (which…
Yeah, a couple of these bands are coming to Dallas in June, I think, and the ones I would most like to see (i.e. Grizzly Bear and Bon Iver) are probably better experienced in doors. Then again, Iron & Wine was surprisingly great last year, so, who knows.
Who the fuck am I kidding, I love tramping around Zilker Park, nomming on delicious festival food and getting the only tan I will probably get all year. I'm doin' it.
The answer to your question is yes, 2007 was the height of ACL excellence, but on the other hand, I rarely stick around for the headliners anyway. I feel like if I am that far away from the stage, it doesn't really count.
I was undecided about this
But for some reason I just now decided that I totally want to go. Although I might just go to Austin and see a few of the bands when they play the other venues at night after their ACL set.
On the ACL festival page, but I agree, I want to talk about it here.
I'm hoping that all the pork I eat has built up my immune system.
