He probably changed his name because he got tired of everyone going, "You gotta be Joe King."

Stupid Mac keyboard.
BREAKING NEWS…
… has a great example of a technically fantastic tracking shot (about 5 minutes, IIRC) that by being fantastic pulled me out of the narrative. And since it's at the beginning of the movie, that sorta hampered me getting into the story. At first.
@chrisk
I haven't seen the movie yet…
… or watched the clip, but it looks like Julianne Moore is getting whacked in the frame offered on the clip. If so, thanks… it'll make the scene less tense when I finally get around to watching the movie.
Arch Obler's "The Bubble"…
… had a pretty similar setup. Small town trapped under a bubble placed by aliens. I saw this on reissue back in the 70s. Crap story but I recall the 3D effects as pretty cool for the time.
And as far as hawking the franchise… they've got another one coming up.
@Lovecraft in Brooklyn:
I never really liked the flick, myself. And seriously loathe the theme song (and the sing-along aspect that seems to posses other folks when it plays).
Doris Day was bad enough to deal with, but Zellwigger makes this a no-renter for me. Can't stand the porcine-faced twit.
I loved the first Crank for the same reason I loved the guitar solo in Spinal Tap's "Break Like the Wind"
Can't stand King of the Hill…
But Idiocracy is pretty cool. Well, the first part. Towards the end it becomes what it's making funn of.
I enjoy Ken Russell…
… and Oliver Reed. And Ann-Margret…
I've long suspected that it was the caricature of the Weinsteins in ACTION that got the series killed eight episodes in. At least I hope it was a caricature… the two creatures would roam the Earth is frightening.
Weird Science a single? Huh. It's the only Hughes movie I can be bothered to rewatch.
They still do these?
Doesn't seem like it'd be the same without Dino. Or even Foster Brooks.
Never rented from one, but I looked one over. Looks like a bait-n-switch game to me… wanna rent one of the two blockbusters in the 'chine? Doubt they'll be in stock, but since you put your card in, there's plenty of The Asylum product available…
I was sorta surprised to see [REC] in a Redbox. Like, it has subtitles and all that.
Well, it's no Snakes on a Plane.
Great interview. Wish I'd had this guy as a teacher when I had the fire in the belly.
