Damn you AV Club… I rented Logan's Run on your recommendation and just finished viewing it. It's simply terrible. I'm okay with the special effects being laughably outdated, but what I can't comprehend is how terrible the dialogues are, how slow and episodic the action is, and how corny the ending… If you're gonna

I can't say the screenplay was my favorite part of Drive.
However it should get the award for the best adapted scorpion jacket

Good list. I'd also add the godless maniacs of Citizen Radio. Jamie & Allison have been constantly funny throughout the year, which is tough when you release 5 podcasts a week. Love the first 20 minutes douche bag buffer, and they've been on top of covering the Occupy movement from Day One. They have an almost cultish

Well put.
Also, don't forget the book's original title was "Men who hate women". Quite a program.
Come to think of it, that would make a brilliant title for the new season of "Gigolos"

I usually never pass on a free screening, and I like JSF, but after watching the trailer for this dreck, I passed on the invite.
Glad the AV confirmed my hunch that this is a vile movie.

I agree with Steven, no game changer this year. I'd say Nicolas Jaar's "Space is only noise" comes pretty close though

The rape charge was dropped. In the end, Polanski only pled guilty to "Unlawful Sexual Intercourse with a minor", and I wouldn't know how to make an adjective out of that. Hence the quotes around the word rapist.

"dumb… convoluted but uninvolving plot"..
That was my review for the previous Sherlock Holmes movie

Saw the play (both in London & New york, coz that's how I roll), and I agree the Third Act was weaker, a little too hysterical for my tastes. Still looking forward to seeing the movie, even if directed by a "rapist". I separate the artist's life from his work, otherwise I'd have to do without the movies of Elia Kazan,

This looks cheesy (PUN ALERT)

At first I read "Tanker Sailor Soldier Spy". And I thought to myself: "Wow, they finally made a movie about the Rainbow Warrior bombing".

My wife takes a sleeping pill every night. I'm allowed to do anything I wish to her. I choose to go to the garage and masturbate to porn. Or to TMZ. Sometimes I read the A.V. Club. There hasn't been vaginal penetration, bruise or scar in years.
I think it would make a great movie.

bd Tsh

Wonderful movie indeed. And there isn't any mime.

Caught this on Sundance last night. Wow. Didn't know they still made movies like this.
My Big Plot-Thin Vanity Project.
The funniest bit was when Nia Vardalos pretends to talk on the phone to a potential date in front of her love interest. Suddenly her phone rings - she pulls a face. That's right, that's the highlight.

Tighten up, will ya

I'd watch that movie if it had Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller planning the kill, and Alan Alda playing Bono.

"Pus in boots"? It's got to be a commercial for abscess-ointment

She was great in "Sophie's choice"
