…but thankfully, being in the UK, I've never encountered the fanbase, who I think are probably the biggest stumbling block to people liking them. I got into them off the Band and Buffalo Springfield.

Blink 182 are better. They didn't make a mess of a classic Who track and one of their songs has some appealing polyphony(?) at the end.

Funnily enough, I saw Faith No More and Soundgarden at the same gig, in 1992, supporting G'N'R. I was a kid and didn't pay much attention to Soundgarden, which I regret now. Faith No More were awesome. I remember Patton ruining G'N'R's big stupid inflatable Welcome To The Jungle Monster and asking for all the crowd's
