Terrific article! Reading it stirred up all the feelings and wonder I got from the series (especially the first movie).

No mention of the mind-numbingly stupid "escape" by Gina? Or the suddenly terrible writing, offing the lead in their case because…because the mystery has to last all season! Honestly I've been liking this show but it struck me as such a poorly motivated decision by her, and purely for narrative convenience.

Methinks I spy a Kirk Douglas shout-out in a certain panel…

The "chipmunk-zoom" struck me as a little Tarantino homage (especially after seeing Django.) But Supernatural has always been at its best when it embraced its B-movie side, so I of course, loved that moment.
