Obviously poisoning Brock is bad, and a very reckless and selfish thing to do, but it is essentially an act of self-preservation against Gus. The fact that he is prepared to risk the life of an innocent child to preserve his own is certainly awful, but the motivation is much more justifiable.
As opposed to killing a kid just out of lust for vengeance, I'll say it really isn't.
I'm not sure I buy the argument that it would be so unthinkable for Jesse to assume Walt would poison Brock, simply because, well… he did think that Walt had poisoned Brock. Rembember when he came to Walt's house with the intention of killing him ? Of course, he let himself get talked out of it because of the…
That bothered me too, but I understand them not wanting to mix the fictional with the real-life elements like that. It allows them to nicely wrap up the fictional storyline in a way that makes the Newsroom world be basically the same as our world.

They did lampshade it, but it's still lazy writing.
My reaction exactly. That is seriously disappointing.
Forgettable isn't the word I would use for the last two episodes of season 1… more like batshit insane.
Not entirely true. Season six is one of the best season of the show, if not the best. The rest is crap though (after season 3 that is).
Agreed, except for season 6, which is kinda great.
