I was saying the proper title in my head, but looking at The Narrator's post! It wasn't my fault I tells ya!

Haha. I actually did it for that reason. Yes, that's right, I'll waste my own time just to laugh to myself.

Ahhh, EYEWtKAS(BWAtA)! The way Gene Wilder just holds his silence as his eyes dart side to side after being told about the goat is one of the great comedy moments. Very fun film.

WATCHED:

Hopefully he attempts to make a half-decent movie this time.

Oh man, dude, you could do so much better.

He has hyperbole about everything. Talented dude, no doubt, but he's not a stranger to bullshit at times.

All devices are done badly unless done well by good writers and writing. If the writing is good, the devices are fine, there's nothing inherently annoying about them. She may as well just have said "Sometimes writing is bad. But this time it's good!" It was an amateurish thing to say, clearly you're okay with that.

I'll uh…try to simplify it:
Yes, I saw what she said, believe it or not, that's what I responded to.
It bothered me, hence the 'what'.
I clarified in the next post that I thought it was a stupid blanket statement. Which it is. I also still perfectly understood what she was trying to say, it's just that what she was

It's cute how you think an appeal to the majority is a worthwhile argument.
Lack of comprehension? I understood perfectly what she meant, my 'what' was more of a confusion that a professional reviewer would seem so amateurish.

I flat-out tell the people who buy me books (mostly my Mum, Girlfriend) what books I want. I give them a little list to choose from and everything. It's a serious business, there's no time for guessing or surprises.

Most writing of all types is frequently done badly. It was a silly statement.

I loved that article as well. Whether you agree or don't agree with Bloom, he's a hugely interesting figure, an extremely erudite man and a joy to listen to. His passion for books is insurmountable. More interviews like that would be excellent, and there's plenty of people out there who could offer similar insights.
I'

Because she presents it as a taken fact that those elements should annoy. There's no reason they should, it's a rather stupid blanket statement, one that seems amateurish from a supposed professional reviewer.

"This Is The Water contains literary elements that should annoy: second-person narrative, semi-stream-of-conscience prose, clashing genres."

Yeah, I'm aware of the backlash to the second half of the season, but I never let such things bother me or affect my opinion. I'm just excited that there's something genuinely interesting and so well done on TV after being in a bit of a TV slump for a couple of years.

5 episodes into True Detective now (was waiting for the Blu-Ray). Great show all-round, from the writing to the directing to the acting to the production design to the cinematography to the everything.

I personally believe the issue isn't the reviews, I think they need better Book features and articles/interviews, etc.

…Um, so, she's still a major fucking moron and morally reprehensible?

I worked in a store that played her every single day for 18 months. Seeing her face now just fills me with rage.
