She was hardly a major character in it. It wasn't a role that required depth. There was plenty of depth in Diane Keaton's and Mariel Hemingway's roles, which was far more required. Woody has always had the ability to write great female characters though.

As someone who speaks English, I can happily say that the existence of an English remake does not necessarily make it a better film for me. At all. I hate lines like that…an English remake makes it an easier movie for YOU, not for everyone who might also speak English. Plenty of us have no issues with subtitles.

The privilege issue is irrelevant to it's quality as art.

Wallace Stevens is one of my favourite poets. A man of very, very distinguished talent.

- Selected Poems of Robert Graves (very solid)
- The Essential Writings of Ralph Waldo Emerson (Really great so far. Such a fantastic writer)

Moss Roberts for the translation.

The thing I like about that episode is that it never actually claims CSM did it, or presents it as fact. It's set up by Frohike stating he has 'information', but it's never confirmed whether it was the truth or not. Add that to the scene with Deep Throat where CSM states he's never killed anyone or thing, it just adds

It's a great fucking book, one of my favourites. Unlike the rest of the commentators, I wouldn't recommend skipping around (heavily against it, most of the time), as a lot of the philosophical asides are central to the overall theme of the book and arc of the characters (some are quite humorous as well). There are

No, I think you massively misunderstand cinematography. Some of film's greatest ever cinematographer's worked with black and white.

Great director!

Cruise > Wahlberg.

Well that was an absurd example to use. Citizen Kane is still an incredible film, that holds up magnificently, especially technically.

…At what point did I pull a white-heterosexual-male-persecuted complex? Look, I get it, the only way for you to form an argument or response is to rely on the 'you're just a straight white male' card, which most of the time, is so devoid of any logic or depth, it should just be ignored (look what I've got myself into

It's interesting, in that I can't help but feel if the tables were reversed, and it was a conservative actor who tweeted someone's address like Lee did, this whole comments section would've been alive with criticism and abuse towards them…but, hey, when it's someone more closely aligned with the left…eh, we'll just

Because the film registry isn't just for films with historical significance, but also aesthetic significance/quality.

They're not very good…but, they are better than Banksy's artwork
at least.

What the fuck do folk have against Mrs. Doubtfire? It's freakin' great!

Finally got around to watching Hitchcock's 'Rear Window'. Such a great film. The awesome set, the natural use of music and sound, the use of camera, Jimmy Stewart Jimmy Stewarting to perfection, the gorgeous Grace Kelly and that wicked Hitchcock wit. Also, I heartily recommend watching it on Blu-Ray; looks great.

Only if you're a tool :)

What relevance would that have to the quality of the film though, fine sir?
