Why would we all be giving this an F?

I don't understand this line of logic. 'Everyone's opinion and feelings are valid and wonderful and sunshine and puppies'. I'm sorry, but no. If you post on discussion forums, or in areas involving public discussions, then don't expect people to just accept what you say. The whole point of discussion forums, or these

Yeah, absolutely, you can see why he was quite the influence on modernism in literature.

Look, you can be offended by whatever the fuck you want. I can't stop you. Ultimately, your offence means two dimes of jack shit, but still, be offended if you like (even if I am skeptical of how offended you are and are more leaning towards you wanting to be seen as oh so virtuous)…however…I'm sick to death of people

Reading 'Lord Jim' by the Brilliant Joseph Conrad. About 110 pages through so far, and already quite gripping and written beautifully. Love Marlow as the narrator.

Gotta love how hyper-sensitive the children get in here.

lol. As if The Simpsons of the last 13 seasons is capable of producing something as well written, mature and emotionally affecting as that. I'd rather they just let it be, instead of embarrassing themselves like they did with Maude.

I won't pile hate on you. I will however, pile hate on bullshit criticism like "it's pretentious", which generally lacks all critical thought and film knowledge behind it. If you'd like to flesh out your criticism and offer something a little more insightful, I'd love to hear it :)

Oh no! People don't conform to my condescending worldview! Oh no!

She is horribly unfunny. Like a new, different McCarthyism has been created for the 21st century, but just as shitty.

Whenever someone says an artist has nothing particular interesting to say, I immediately suspect that person is full of shit and just doesn't know how to evaluate films properly. But maybe you're different, who knows?

Nah. The rest of the episode is great, especially the Tony/Junior scene.

They can, but the aesthetic quality of something means more to me. Also, far too often a discussion of the latter often ends up in "this work of art did/didn't align with my world view therefore it is this/that" or "this older work doesn't align to my modern day ethics, therefore, etc" which I tend to find a

It's nice to see The AV Club tackle film/TV from an aesthetic and technical standpoint, rather than the usual soicio-political/cultural bullshit.

Maybe they could have an argument as to which one is the most overrated?

Shit movie, but that Lear quote is actually pretty good.

Look, I know it's going to be covered extensively in the comments, but still:

Couldn't imagine something I'd want to read less. Great musician and all, but he really is an insufferable cunt.

Nope.
