I seem to recall an episode of Family Matters where Laura and Steve (I
think) are being held hostage in a bank, and Steve imagines all these
scenarios where he's saving the day.  But then when he attempts to
actually do so he nearly gets himself killed, and instead Carl comes in
and heroically takes down the robbers

I gave up after season 7 pretty much out of apathy, but your summation of season 8 as an outright abomination makes me suddenly want to seek it out (if only for its potential MWOF entry).  So thanks for that!

At first I thought that scene was going to be a dream sequence, since it kind of came out of nowhere and began with a fade-in.  Also, did Joe hear something that woke him up?  Because it seemed kind of weird that Jesse would just be downstairs pointing a gun silently at Sara's head waiting for Joe to wake up, whenever

Totally agree with your post.  I was one of the people who tried to defend Quantum of Solace when it came out, because even though it borrowed liberally from the Bourne films it still had some well staged action scenes and a faster pace than Casino Royale.  A lot of things didn't really make sense, but I assumed that

The year Baldwin hosted with Steve Martin was probably my favorite telecast of the ones I've seen, aside from the one a few years prior when Martin hosted by himself.

It seems like a more clever time to release the song (and probably the movie) would be on December 21, 2012, because on that day the sky should, quite literally, be falling.  Although I think most people are already over the whole end-of-the-world thing, so I guess this date is better.

That makes more sense.  Good catch about Perabo's character, I didn't remember that till you mentioned it.

There were rumors in the film that the Rainmaker had a prosthetic jaw, so I think the bandage was meant to show that in this timeline he wouldn't need the eventual prosthetic because his mother tended to his wound in time and thus he might not become the horrible Rainmaker after all.  Or something along those lines.
