Huh.  I don't know that I'd call it an art film, but I actually thought the movie's themes were pretty consistent, and that most of its plot holes came as a result of it trying too hard to drive home those themes.  Story vs plot, as someone mentioned above.  But to each his own I guess.

YES.  I really like Andrew Garfield, but man the script made Peter into a total asshole.  And that would've been fine if they'd had him redeem himself properly in some way, but they never did (eggs, really?).  And Aunt May just sat around and let him be a dick and do his own thing without questioning him at at all…
