We were convinced that the pain behind the eye thing had to be a reference to the post-drift eye bleeding thing.

I have heard rumors that Charlie had been suggesting they bring him on for a cameo as well. I am definitely in favor of this.
I quite enjoyed the few moments of "the writers fuck with Pacific Rim fans" in this (which I can only assume was intentional). I watched a livestream and the chat EXPLODED when Burn showed up, and in the scene where he reveals his technique for cat-spider communication, Charlie is pretty blatantly mimicking Burn's…
Saw this yesterday. It was good, but not what it should have been. A number of people have been making comparisons to Mononoke and that's where I took it too. I thought this would be their Mononoke- their dark, mature, not exactly kid friendly fairy tale. And it just wasn't. I would have liked to see:

I for one think it would probably be way more fun if it WAS Bollywood style. Certainly more memorable, at least.
Oh I don't disagree with you about the purchasing thing. I was attempting to take this from a bit more of a social psych perspective. We don't actively purchase things based on things like race, but we do respond to marketing that is based in various demographics, as much as we'd like to think that we don't (myself…
As you say, the judges just don't respond well to designs coming from that perspective. And that is reflective of the fashion industry as a whole. I'm racking my brain to think of runway photos that reflect an aesthetic geared towards black women and I really can't think of any.
I agree with you so hard my friend. I say this above as well, but a collection where all you can say is "well, that's pretty" isn't a collection that should win a design contest.
It cropped up a few weeks back on Gawker. They apparently had got a tip from somebody. No idea how substantiated it is, but really, would you be surprised?
I actually disagree. Her collection wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best. I personally responded (save for a few pieces) substantially better to Viktor and Kimberly's work. They weren't perfect, but they tried. Look at Anya's again. It was pretty, and it was cohesive. It was also almost the exact same dress repeated 10…
Actually, I was done about a month and a half ago with it. My reaction was much the same to Season 6 in LA, where I stopped watching after the first episode and just read the recaps. It took me pretty much a full season after that one before I started watching again. So, I can't say I'm done forever, but I'm probably…
I agree, she did fine for not typically reviewing this show, but we seem to favor our runway reviews delightfully acerbic. Teti's review last week, especially with that glorious Josh-Big Gay Al comparison, is a pretty golden example to work from, and Amelie's old ones (especially anything featuring the phrase…
Hmmm… I'm going with jersey knit toga and… tweedy looking ugly pants? It's quite odd.
Truly that was a beautiful thing. A slow clap for your, Mr. Teti.
Given her role in Harold and Kumar, I felt she was a rather appropriate choice for an episode where everyone was incapable of talking about anything other than boobs.
I'm with you on Anya and Anthony Ryan, barring anything unforeseen, but I'm inclined to say Victor over Barbie.
You have hit the nail on the head, sir.
It's probably better that you don't. I often wonder if this show is some sort of extremely extended Dateline raid.
As Dr.Robuttnik said, they didn't put the unaltered versions on this release. But wait a bit. I waited on getting the DVDs until just a few years ago, and they put out the 6 disc box. The first disc for each film is the "remastered" version, but the original theatrical releases were included on the second disc.
