I completely disagree with you on Sweeny.  His Nancy Reagan was genius and ahead of its time.  In no way was it regressive, in fact it was a bit Sweeny had done before he ever did SNL.  He captured the vindictive and scheming First Lady much more successfully than Jan Hooks did (a pale imitation).
