They advocated for pants through the clever placement of the camouflaged penis over the cat's right thigh on the cover of Metal Magic. Could've been avoided with pants.

That's hilarious. I've been hoping I would just eventually understand through osmosis.
"Some!" "Some!"
Totally agree. What's worse than a dude getting paid money to talk about sports while being ignorant about them is making that ignorance look like pride. And PTI.. instead of total ignorance, they've just trot out safe debating points from a minute of their assistants doing internet research. Are sportscasters that…
"captured the general public's attention"? I'm sure a subset of people who actually like music had their attention captured. From what I remember in those days, outside of 120 Minutes, the only videos on MTV were endless Brandy videos.
Speaking of those "seductive dances," there should be a supercut of them. They must have been hilarious to shoot since they quickly cut to the CG action scenes. "..pout… start awkwardly swaying… CUT!"
I love that you can feel the pain from digging up all those Rolling Stone and Spin citations. Some of the most embarrassing articles in 90s rock journo are from the Razorblade Suitcase era. One more gross detail that I recall in an article from those days is that aside from Gavin bragging about how much he liked the…
Professional athletes… always wanting more.
After a run of hearing her on the Todd Glass Show, I've become a fan of Jen Kirkman. She's always a good sport for advancing bits. I've never heard her shut anyone down, no matter how meager the premise. The only problem I had with her YMIW episode is that she was so agreeable to everything Old Petey Pants (OPP) said.…
@avclub-d71760750778a95386b703f5c9e474f0:disqus There's a difference between being partisan and being a hipster. I like hockey and I get annoyed at it being marginalized on silly grounds. However I'm not pretending to like it out of irony. I think most people who are visible hockey fans actually like the game. I also…
Sigh, I would love to join in the fun of saying "NICE FUCKING MODEL… *honk* *honk*" or "come on down, I'll chew on a dog awooo" but I was wondering if anyone has the Blu-ray and if it's worth it. Did they do a new transfer from the original film? I want to re-own this as my VHS tape melted.
You can't go wrong with their yearly Best-Ofs and Holiday Spectaculars as a starting point. Scott Aukerman did a feature here recently (Bestcasts) where he picked out three favorite episodes that were indeed hilarious. I believe they were "Time Bobby" "Farts and Procreation" and "Mayor of Hollywood" (though for the…
"Mama Jamas?!"
"Mama Jamas?!"
He wants to talk to Paul F. Tompkins about things? That is always good. I wish I could talk to PFT about things.

I can't really say whether I've found it a sinking ship, I started pretty late around the horribly edited Best Of episode. But I'm totally sucked into the weird hangout world they've created. I don't think of Todd as being "bullying" or overbearing. He just makes the atmosphere of the podcast his/their own. His crew…

Oh my goodness Nice and Smooth. My favorite was "Old to the New" off Jewel of the Nile (which I thought was their comeback album?). The Three Dog Night sample is amazing (you have to have the bass turned way up) which made me think this song was going to be much more popular than it ended up being.
