@avclub-77b18ff392798e8e52b7f83004902be8:disqus But didn't Hatred try to talk to him about it the other week and Dean refused?
The whole Moss and Margaret 'relationship' is absolutely brilliant, easily the highpoint of a great episode.
You made me laugh just by writing that quote, as did everyone else who wrote it on this page. I am ridiculously easily amused/far too in love with Richard Ayoade.
As far as Roy and the model go, I took it more as a joke directed at his own obliviousness and self-centeredness that he can't believe that a disfigured woman would think she could do better than him… I certainly think the model is intended to come off as the reasonable one.
Right down to the horrible theme song by Bowie it's a fucking stinker.
I love the character cards and the combat randomiser deck, it just makes things less predictable. We're also trying to make this a weekly or bi-weekly thing to make sure there isn't the first dull 30 minutes or so.
@avclub-057667becf2d6f53a5cb71f24fdd11b4:disqus oh God Tom Scott is a lot of things but a credible writer of films/TV dramas he is not… did you see that Separation City film he wrote about how being married to Danielle Cormack is so horrible that sometimes you have to cheat on her with Rhona Mitra? It was rampantly…
No mention of the title character from the classic Hail to the Chimp?
Glad to see The Crusaders continue their march to being knocked out in a preliminary final and pretty stoked to see The Warriors notch up yet another 2 competition points. The streak must be nearing 2002 levels of awesomeness by now?
I agree they definitely were bland in places with Send Away the Tigers being the absolute nadir. Journal for Plague Lovers could have been a ghoulish exercise in grave-robbery but ended up being a triumphant return to form (easily better than anything released since Everything Must Go) which carried on through Postcard…
Do they still do the Montana Sunday Theatre thing on One or is it all "Most Embarrassing Bodies" and whatnot nowdays?
I was so suprirsed by The Other Guys which I caught on cable whilst nursing a terrible hangover at my parents' house. I caught the opening credits and assumed I'd watch for 5 minutes and give up in disgust but I watched the whole lot and laughed so much it hurt my brain, especially at the description of what happened…
Just like that, if Stark was led by your housemate who clearly didn't care, didn't listen to the instructions and gave up halfway through.
Yeah, he was adamant that no players coming through were a patch on what The Lions had. I asked him when the last time that was the case with NZ rugby was and he just laughed and chugged his beer.
Pretty much like Risk but with more complicated combat mechanics, logistical limitations on army size and character cards you can play to add modifiers or other complicate things… it takes a few turns to get used to but the game is excellent fun.
Oh yeah, Motorcycle Emptiness is absolutely breath-takingly brilliant. I love most of Generation Terrorists like I will one-day love my children but that song is head and shoulders above the rest…
Those are my two favourite Beck albums (Sea Change would be #3) so definitely keep listening!
Possibly my most hated Civ in Civilization 5 though… though Washington is a prick, Montezuma is a psycho and Ghandi seems to be constantly fiving me shit also.
Saw that film for the first time when I was the same as as the titular character… in retrospect, probably far too young!
