I fell asleep during The Avengers and the first and third Lord of the Rings films. Though, in my defense, the latter were seen at midnight openings with copious amounts of free booze consumed prior and the former's second act is really dull and approximately 4 hours long.

Here, My Dear is such an incredible album, wall-to-wall brilliant. Even this song is goofy but deeply funky and good fun, 'fun' being a quality lacking in tracks where Gaye is bitching about the amount of alimony he has to pay (soulfully, of course).

@Pgoodso:disqus Really? I'm absolutely positive I remember an intermission. That and the steamroller scene are all I do remember from the film. Could it be possible that the cinema inserted an intermission? Who knows what the owners of cinemas were up to in Blenheim, 1988.

I had the same film. There were still intermissions in films back then!

Very true, I spent 3 years there in the mid-late 90s and felt extremely let down by the banality of TV.

My friend used to have this guy she worked with who was obsessed with her, calling her his 'soulmate' and pine over her loudly and obnoxiously whenever a group of them happened to go out together. We called him Duckie and I had to do my best to try to help her ignore him. I think that experience coloured my tolerance

Fuck Duckie, I hate that chump. Blane is dreamy.

Sad but true. When is Wayne Bennett going to be free again?

I haven't seen the film in 20 years but from memory Raphael was the one that goes off and cries (cf. Harrison, George).
