I couldn't watch more than 30 minutes if Die Hard 4; the fact that the director couldn;t hold a shot for more than 5 seconds without cutting really did my head in. I spent most of the weekend playing Desux Ex: Human Revolution which is pretty excellent. My only regret is that I chose to play it on the second hardest skill level but I find the stupidity of the enemy AI too annoying - if I was more patient I'd start again on the hardest level but… meh, fuck it.

Guts, but agreed… Hosea Gear was too often making breaks but ending up out on his own with no support. I was 1/4 over the weekend - losses to the Crusaders, Highlanders and Black Caps only slightly tempered by a Warriors win.

Which version of Mishima was it? The Criterion release with the original voice over is far better than the Roy Schneider version. It might be because I came into it as a Mishima buff but I love that film with a passion.

Huge congratulations on the job and agreed on Brideshead, an amazing book that had me carrying round a teddy bear for a few regrettable months and considering converting to Catholicism in first year. Have you read much of Waugh's other work? The Sword of Honour trilogy is pretty excellent.
