Leaving aside those statistics for a minute, just looking at the absolute number of guns in circulation in the US and the reasons that people seem to buy them is staggering:

Gregg Popovich calls for obnoxious "Hack-a-Hulk" strategy, gives withering look to sideline reporter.

Actually, light would be able to reach his crotch, it just wouldn't be able to escape. So what you see on the cover is the crotch event horizon. The black hole for an event horizon that size would actually be microscopic, and therefore the Hawking radiation which would be emitted by his crotch would be outside the

Bernie Sanders is a Jew whose economic message is to take from the bankers and give back to the poor and needy, and social message is justice and anti-violence. So he's basically Jesus. Which means the unicorn butt stuff checks out, basically.

I saw Slash in NYC playing with his current band (Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators). First, it was a fantastic show. Second, their version of Rocket Queen included a face-melting 10 min solo. So good.

Ozzfest

I was 12 and my very first CD purchase was David Lee Roth's "Eat 'Em and Smile" and "Appetite for Destruction". I probably would have bought "Hysteria" but I already owned it on cassette. Prior to getting into hard rock right around that time, I was a big Michael Jackson and Beach Boys fan.

I was pretty much the same kid. I put all of my 80s rock and pop CDs (and cassettes!) in a suitcase for about a year and strove to be super cool by getting into not just the up-and-coming alt rock bands and 90's punks but going back through the 80's underground punk/hardcore/alt scene. Of course, now I love the music

It didn't just cut the fat. It was an attempt to release a 'clean' version because GnR refused to release edited or bleeped out versions of their songs. So obviously some key tracks got left off just because of lyrical content, e.g. "You Could Be Mine."

Why so on Edge, dude?

The breaking point came when Cohen asked the band, "what does 'get on your bike and ride!' even mean? It doesn't make sense with the rest of the lyrics!" So obviously they kicked him out.

I applaud your quick wit!

URITE. And "you've seen two Death Stars, what's one more?" is the logic behind the Starkiller, I guess.

Whoopsvian!

I would've bet anything that line was in A New Hope. In fact, I checked IMDB quotes to confirm and I still kind of can't believe it. Memory is crazy. The lesson as always is INTO THE GARBAGE CHUTE, FLYBOY.

This looks awesome, but I'm such a wuss I don't actually want to see all those Bothans die.

Yeah, I parsed you correctly then as being critical of Eggers, not Infinite Jest. My comment, which also may not have been clear, is that Eggers (not you) may have been being sarcastic, or at least, purposefully obtuse, as he is in some of his other projects. I really like both DFW and DE, so I suggested reading

It's always hard to tell anymore if people are being sarcastic. I recommend just going ahead and reading "A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius". It's not very long.

I love AHWoSG, You Shall Know Our Velocity, and What is the What. I'm bummed I haven't kept up with him since then.
