And Walt would be buying a legal weapon out of a trunk, with cash, on the sly, why again?

    No kidding!

Sorry, but the definition of "semi-automatic" is that it ejects the brass but requires another pull of the trigger to fire.  M60s are fully automatic weapons.  That's the essence of what it means to be a belt-fed machine gun.

And what would you have done about the computer?  Simply have them discover it?  I see nothing inconsistent or problematic:  it is yet-another version of "Jesse says something strange and Walt runs with it to solve the problem".  That has happened more than once.  I have yet to hear any reason why this was a bad

The "magnet stuff" was pretty much the only way to crack this nut, and I fail to see how it was cheesy.

Ms. Bowman, to quote a cinematic masterpiece, "you're killin' me smalls".  An M60 machine gun is not a "semiautomatic".  It is a fully automatic belt-fed, well, machine gun.

I do!  There's always one Philosophy 101 "Donnie Darko is so deeeep maaaan" lurking anytime that pretentious malarkey is mentioned, and you showed up right on cue!

Season 4 was such a shift in tone and had so much humor that it was almost jarring. I liked it and didn't at the same time.
