I played some kind of variation of Bridge but the cards had dragons on them. It seems that the most important part is having a good partner. Also there's a lot going on with bidding. I did horribly.

Oh that ugly euro box art, I will never get tired of it. The box art for Caylus is pretty bad. http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…
Scrawler I think we are total opposites. Party games like Apples to Apples (or Cards Against Humanity) make me really uncomfortable. Everyone else is laughing a lot more than me and I go for the cards that makes sense rather than the ones that are funny. I like games where there are a ton of little wooden pieces and…
My group is always looking for new games to try. There's this site shutupshow.com where they review board games (though irregularly, sometimes it's episodes, sometimes written reviews, but we've actually bought some games due to their recommendations) and thought I'd just mention it.
I like Alhambra. It's a good game for when everyone is tired and we don't want to think too hard but we still want to play something. I don't really like Ticket to Ride so much. There is a better one called Thurn & Taxis that is kinda similar but more interesting.
That's why I get a harbor. UNSTOPPABLE
Cloisters? No way, it's always comes down to farms. The farming gets intense with the people I play with.
I bought Power Grid because I heard such good things about it but I was a little disappointed. It's okay but not spectacular and most the people I know would rather play the other games we have, so I've ended up played it twice in the two years I've had it.
Puerto Rico is okay but it's a little broken when you realise how good the corn strategy is, I'm pretty much unstoppable if I start the game off with corn.
I'm done with Catan. I used to love it but too much is out of your control and you can end up so completely screwed that you're basically just sitting there trying to help out the person with the most points so that the game will end faster.
Kill Doctor Lucky was good, though my favorite Cheapass Game was Secret Tijuana Deathmatch (but they don't seem to have it on their website).
@ColdGottoBe:disqus I've only seen the first season when he's without facial hair, but I will let you know what my thoughts are when/if I watch subsequent seasons.
I know I'm going to be alone on this, but I dislike beards and mustaches. I don't know if it's just lately or what but it seems like every guy has a beard. I went into a Trader Joe's last night and it was like BEARDS and I didn't know if it was a hipster thing or just a thing in general but I don't like it.
same here, thought it was pretty good, especially mcconaughey. i remember not really being interested in seeing it and I saw the pictures and thought man I don't know about that but then scrawler told me to stop being such a goddamn baby and just go fuckin' watch it already and i did and it was alright.
Nah you weren't presumptuous, re-reading what I wrote it does look like I was saying I'm an alcoholic. I've been drinking less than I was a few months ago so I'm happy with that, but ideally I'd like to drink no more than one day a week. I don't know if that will happen, I don't usually have resolutions or make goals…
I'm not trying to give it up completely, it's just my problem is that when I drink, I can't sleep, so I guess what I mean by cutting back is that I just need to drink on fewer days of the week, for the sake of my sleeping health, not because it's seriously negatively affecting my life.
I'm usually really late too. It takes forever just to read what everyone else has wrote and comment and such and maybe do some for real work. Actually I'm usually here when it goes up, but I don't want my comment on the first page, so I wait till morning and then bam page 4 it is, but I don't think I'm going to even…
Not just weekends, but entire weeks, months, years…if you asked me what I did in 2012 I don't think I could give you an answer. I don't know where the times goes or what I've been doing.
Glad to hear you've been sober a week! It's not easy. I need to lay off the booze too, but I've been cutting back, so it's a start.
Sorry to hear about that Franko, that sounds like a really tough situation. I hope things settle down soon and you can find a new normal. Sending internet hugs your way.
