Ugh, the word "pandering" has been bandied about so much in the past few years, I think it's lost it's edge. The characters on Girls are hardly a positive spin on millennials, and they're written as intensely flawed for a reason. I don't see how the humor on that show is "sophomoric." Most of it is extremely subdued

I can't help but feel like *somebody* felt that it would be critically unfair to let the season go by without a low point, so they dropped a C on a C+/B- episode while they still had a chance. That said… this was the low point. Just not *that* low.
