Read them and loved them. I didn't find the ending to be all that unsatisfying. the story arc was a bit of a closed loop because of the way it was constructed, but it wasn't too bad.

Julian May's Saga of Pliocene Exile/Galactic Milieu series is both outstanding and—perhaps more important—complete. Anyone who likes that fantasy/sci-fi mix that Zelazny did so well should definitely give them a try. The first book is The Many-Colored Land.

I think the only Zelazny book to make it to the big screen so far is Damnation Alley (1977). It's not good.
