Cute. But to be fair no one is holding "Photosynthesis" up as a great meditation on a utopian society. Nor is it played ad nauseum by every seventeen year old girl looking to seem deep and socially aware.

Give him a legit listen. He's actually pretty fucking awesome. A few commentators around here were pushing his songs hard for a while and about 2 years ago i gave him a listen and was an instant Frank Turner fan-boy.. like obnoxiously so. That's the Hold Steady name drop i immediately thought of too.
Tough call on Best/Weakest. Alot of my likes on the album tend to stem from how well the song comes across live (mostly from youtube clips, I only saw Nirvana live once).
Their 1st album stands up against anything released in the early 90's. From I See the Light to Don't Fuck me Up… solid as hell.

Really Miller… "reactionary garbage"? Settle down. Come on its a fun song. Its was a huge hit at my eighth-grade dance.
Lemur,

Don't get the Hold Steady… huh. Sounds like someone is being contrary for contrary's sake.
A Brit?
Is Frank Turner the best current Manly Populist Rocker? Used to be thought of as a "American" archetype, but is that passing? As American bands get more "Euro-y" (think MGMT) do European bands get more American?
Zoe
My big problem with Zoe is that she is sort of a liberal guy's fantasy broad, all protesty and what-not but also yuppie-ish and prettty too. I know its just a stupid sitcom (which i sadly love) but her character is too ill-defined. On one hand she's the uber-protester urban guerrilla, on the other hand she's the…
