Why would they withdraw?  The Federation presence was established before they knew about the wormhole.  They would probably be less of a priority than they were after the wormhole was discovered, but DS9 would probably be moved back to Bajor's orbit and Starfleet would continue to have a presence.

Oh I was defnitely the Scmidtt (in an emotional sense) of our college apartment.  Unfortunately our Winston refused to intervene and our stand-off lasted basically our whole senior year.
