This book rocked my 12-year old brain. I still love it to this day. I'm sure there's a lens of nostalgia, but who cares. The movie however — meh, meh, meh. FFC at his most indulgent and hackneyed.

Yeah, I agree that Trelane is really proto-Q. I just don't like the ep at all, whether or not it may be representative. Also omitted, technology evil themes in Ultimate Computer, Return of the Archons, The Changeling.. that's kinda surprising.
