Wow. I loved Gremlins when I was that age. It never even struck me as scary, saw it as a kids' comedy.

Cloverfield. Why did they have to hire a bunch of good looking actors? I'll watch plenty of films due to a hot leading lady, but this kind of film suffers for hiring a group of people who are all hot/toned/well dressed, etc. It pulls you out.
@avclub-33235e3d066bad95b6eea457826f7507:disqus (stupid Disqus comment system won't let me reply to you direct)…I was saying Alec Guinness's ghost would not give a flying fuck to defend Star Wars.
Really?
Was just about to post "Why did people think Snatch/Lock Stock were good?"
Take out Harrison Ford and Star Wars is unwatchable. (Apart from some Carrie Fisher bits).
Discuss.
I wish the Bow Wow Wow singer would get off the fence.
"People gonna die!" says local idiot as he runs around Dresden to the sound of planes.
Needs more Lucas and CGI before I'm going, that is for certain.
Without watching the trailer I assume Zeta-Jones and Hopkins are part of some Welsh Government hit squad.
That'll rock.
You don't need a 'deep' understanding, but it massively helps when it comes to certain references, lines, behaviour, imagery, etc. I know that can be said of any film in any country to a degree. But of all the Czech films I've seen this on benefited the most from Czech awareness.
I confirm Daisies and Marketa Lazerova are more than worth a watch.
Loves of a Blonde is a brilliant film. Highly recommended Fireman's Ball is good, but it does help if you know something about the culture of Czechoslovakia.
Pike was awful. Truly awful. The expression on her face during this film made me think she would be struggle to work at the drive-thru, let alone be a high flying lawyer.
Yeah. I both hated and loved it.
Tom Cruise was the least of this film's problems. The most gormless, dullest, dumbest looking (and dumbest acting) lawyer of all time was far more annoying.
Fuck a duck. Why not pick a babe for this role? Screw you, world.
