It's where I discovered Hall, and I became an instant fan.  The other PTA movies are mostly great, but Hard Eight is really showcase for Hall, more than the others.  Aside from that and Secret Honor, he hasn't had a lot of "leading man" (or in the case of Secret Honor "only man") roles, but he's always great.
