I saw at as a kid and it was one of the first movies to really disturb me.  The atmospheric smoginess of the film remains impressive, even with the cheap production design.

The centipede and dinosaur scenes happening in rapid succession mirrored the pacing of the original film, which also had a non-stop series of adventures and carnage upon the arrival to the island.  (The giant bug scene was cut from the original for being too horrific).  The original is one of my all time favorites,

In Dead Alive, the church organist is playing the "Sodomy" melody at one point.

The stuff on the island was like Jurassic Park/original King Kong cubed and justified the whole movie for me.

Also, Glenn Greenwald.

Watching that trailer made me realize that every passing moments brings me closer to death.  Of course, that was true before I watched it, but now it seems especially relevant for some reason.
